My company name “All Things Counter” is a fragment  from one of my favourite poems, Pied Beauty by Gerard Manley Hopkins. In full the line reads  “All things counter, original, spare, strange” – and that’s what I try to offer, unusual things with a story.

I have to confess that unlike Hopkins who was rhapsodising about nature, I tend to get overexcited about tin soldiers, vintage dolls and gilded mirrors but each to their own. Whether an object began as a hand crafted luxury or was a mass produced item everything becomes unique with age.
